Pulling the plug

Having watched A Short Stay in Switzerland with my wife about a true story of Dr Anne Turner, who in 2006 took her own life in a Zurich clinic having developed an incurable degenerative disease.

Told my wife if for some reason it happned to me or I had some accident I dont want to spend my life like a vegetable ,hooked up some machine living on fluids from a bottle.
“If that ever ,ever happens to me ..just pull the plug ”

She got up unplugged mylaptop, took bottle of lager and tipped it down the sink.

Should learn to keep my big mouth shut.

Happy Valentines Day To My Wife.

Family sue over ‘designer’ baby

As you may be aware I take interest over eugenics issue

now I came across this article on whats happening in Australia

ONE of Australia’s first “designer babies” born from an embryo that doctors believed did not contain a cancer gene has failed, prompting a massive lawsuit.

The boy’s heartbroken family launched the landmark legal action against a Victorian IVF clinic following the alleged diagnosis.

The couple are suing for damages to cover hospital and medical expenses for their son’s entire life.

And they’re claiming special damages for the cost of bearing and rearing another child who does not carry the mutant gene.

The distraught couple also want compensation for emotional pain and upset.

They say they would have adopted a child _ or had none at all _ if scientists had not claimed they could hand-pick embryos free of the cancer gene.

Legal specialists believe the case, if successful, could result in one the largest medical damages payouts ever recorded in Australia.

Can you imagine how the child feels if he ever reads this!

I seriously hope the parents win, the uk government watch with interest and end the clause 14 that we have campaigned about!

Went to get a curry from our local curry house,my wife always phone the orders and the dog comes with me and sits patently out side shop like he always do.

The staff was a bit busy and it was taking longer than usual so I was watching tv that they have behind the counter.
Next thing I saw the their look in horror when I turned round and saw a man enter shop cuddling my dog.

“This dog was out side “

Me “yeah and?”
Him “oh is it your dog “
Me “Yeah “

At this point the staff gave me the food and said, “no no I don’t want any dogs in here”

The guy walked out still holding my dog and was about to hand him over to me

I said why don’t you put him down?

Him “He can walk?”

Me “Yeah it’s a dog he has four legs”

Lack Of Sleep 2

Woken up with a sharp nudge..

Me “What?”

Wife “Car alarm going off”

Me “Keys downstairs in kitchen”

Wife ” can’t you do it?”

Me “why … its not bothering me”

Lack Of Sleep

Happy Couple

Tiptoe quietly into my bedroom at 4 am after night out with the lads, making absolute sure that I don’t wake my wife and baby up.
Remembering not to fling my clothes about and avoiding creaks along the floorboards As I just about to put my foot into bed my wife sat up like Dracula sprung out of a coffin.
Seeing her arms flapping about I manage to lip-read her face from the moonlight shining through a crack in the curtains onto her face.

What I lip-read as she was pointing to her ears “ turn your fucking hearing aids off its whistling

Oooops , somehow my hearing aids managed to switch back on after I took them out and put them on a dresser !

The RNID and Sunday times have sparked disability hate crime.

The RNID and Sunday times have sparked disability hate crime.

Take a look at this link
http://www.timesonline.co.uk

Very shoddy journalism, which I think missed the very issue that we are most concerned with – see this link.

http://stopeugenics.org
We are protesting to protect an embryo from being tossed aside once it is found to have the Deaf gene.

Digg and Fark
http://digg.com http://forums.fark.com
along with so many forums and discussion board are headed with the words “string the deaf people up” “inbreeds” “ I hate deaf people” to “Fucking retards

They are referring to inaccurate reporting and an inaccurate statement from Jackie Ballard that deaf people demand deaf babies over hearing.

This is a eugenics issue NOT a designer baby issue.

I am unhappy that forum boards are awash with disability hate which is against the law in the UK.

Neither Sarah-Kate Templeton (Sunday Times Newspaper) and Jackie Ballard (RNID) will apologise for it!

Are Deaf People Parasites To Society?

embryo
I am a married man and concerned by this proposal, which is to me is a seed to start legalised eugenics! Link Human Fertilisation and Embryology Bill
I am deaf and my wife is hearing I went out with her and eventually got married for a simple reason that I love her.
She says the same and do not see my disability as people put it.
We went on to have 3 healthy boys who we are proud of!
There was never a question of will we produce disabled children on our first date or any thing like that!!
When we settled down to have children the only conversation we had is what if we have a Downs child.
There was no question if a child may turn out deaf shortsighted or any other disabilities.
We mention Downs as every one have an option to be tested; can you imagine the test for any other disabilities?
I often wonder if those women who abort Downs are more likely to abort with any other disabilities.

Quite naturally some people have mixed marriages because they don’t see a race issue. The same principle is the case if deaf people marry hearing people.
No one blinks if anyone marries their own race and goes on to produce children so why is it a problem for same disability to do this?

In America Alexandra Graham Bell noticed that if a deaf couple get together they go on to produce deaf children. However, if a mixed i.e. deaf with hearing you go on to produce hearing children, so social genetics was introduced.
You can find out more in these following links

We don’t need to tell you about nazi camps and we all know not only the Jews were sent to concentration camps and experimented on.. This has happened to all disabilities including deaf people.

But all that is in past… I thank God that people have defeated them and yes-deaf people have played their part in the war….
Time to put away the history books and relax… surely this cant happen again?

WRONG!

(Book mark these pages as they get updated as it happens)

American deaf bloggers are alarmed by this as if it happens in the UK it will happen in America and rest of the world.

I know this is not always the case, that its only deaf people produce deaf babies as I know 2 people who are hearing produce deaf children.
Can you imagine you are that couple needing an IVF, so you’re left with a few choices?
Would a hearing person accept this? Possibly if there are no known cases of deafness in their family as they are venturing into the unknown!
But to deny a deaf couple is wrong as we don’t see it as a disability!

I find this appalling to class us as abnormal when you know that
68% of people aged 16 years and over wear spectacles or contact lenses.
Is that not a disability? If not… then why wear glasses?
Why not stop everybody producing children with visual impairments?
After all this is caused by genetics??

Car Alarm

Proton CarA few years back when I was single and carefree I used to spend my Sunday nights in North Wales.
I find Connahs Quay, Flintshire, very lively (yeah a rough estate) but made loads of friends.
One of my mates (who still lives there) and I used to go around a few pubs, as you do; get a take away and pass out J.
Trouble is I am known to get lost, and once I ended up at a graveyard.
Yeah I know it’s not a lively place to hang out!

Anyway, I borrowed my stepfather’s car, which was a Proton. It was a brand new car at the time and I used to park out side my friend’s house, stay overnight and drive home in the evening of next day.
It had a car alarm and for some strange reason my stepfather like to keep the car alarm key separate to the car keys.
One day I turned the alarm off, put alarm key fob in pocket and used the car key to open the car to get in.
As I started the car the alarm fob must have activated to set the alarm off.
I was driving along and looking in mirror I saw my friend waving trying to stop me to tell me the alarm was off.
But I actually thought he was waving me off so I waved back at him.

Driving along the busy main road at 4pm it is as busy as any city centre I noticed more people were looking at me. Even stopping at zebra crossings I got a quite a few stares!
I thought to myself they must admire the car, couldn’t see why as its not exactly a Ferrari is it?

Arriving few yards from home my mum could hear the car alarm going and seeing me realised that I have left car alarm on.
I heard it when I stepped out of the car. You would have thought car manufacturers have some light indication if alarm goes off?

Mum and my friend have never let me live it down.

Some People Think Deaf are Simple Minded!

BarbieI have a younger sister and the age different between us is 13 years., So as you can see I left home long before she reached her teens.
Sometimes when I used to visit my mum and she happened to be there, she would usually have her school friends around at the house.
I found that some of her school friends must have thought that deaf people had some disease or are very simple minded!
For example, if I spoke to one of them and didn’t get a reply, or when others only replied to my sister and not me.
Teenagers think it’s uncool to be talking to adults, so I loved winding my sister up as she did it often enough to me.

When she was about 14, I came round to my mums house and I gave her a birthday card and I timed it well so that she could open it in front of her friends. It was a Barbie card. I found it amusing, as her friends did not know what to say.
My sister said “Fintan, don’t you think I am a bit too old for a Barbie card?”
Since then every birthday she always got a Barbie card from me.
3 years ago on her 21st birthday I turned up and she mentioned that she didn’t get a Barbie card this year, just a normal happy birthday card
Knowing her friends were within earshot I said “it’s about time you grew up..You’re told old for Barbie birthday cards”

But when she finally got round to opening her birthday presents she came to mine last …What was in it, yep you have guessed it, a Barbie doll!
